Seeds and sunshine

1st November 2002 at 00:00
Small children sing about oats and wheat and barley but often have little idea what these look like or how they grow. Fun With Flour is a pack of A4 cards for key stage 1 that aim to bridge the gap between agriculture and urban life. Some deal with the "grain chain" that links seeds and sunshine to our breakfast tables; others concentrate on what we eat and how we like to eat it, inviting children to experiment with different kinds of loaves. They all help make the changing seasons seem as real as supermarkets. Fun With Flour can be ordered by telephone or downloaded from the website.
