Shakin' Stranraer

5th September 2003 at 01:00
A community and learning development class in Egyptian (belly) Dancing (beginners) is shaking Stranraer Academy to its foundations on Monday evenings.

Just to make sure that the good burghers of the ferry port get the message, the bumf on the course does say that it's for ladies only, and advises students to bring a scarf to tie round the hips.

How many Egyptians the com-ed people hope to find in Stranraer isn't clear, but the course does claim to improve posture and co-ordination.
