The Scottish Conservatives want to ban students from using mobile phones in class. What do you think? bit.lyTechTories

I think it shows schools struggle to know how to use technology in class. More access not less!

In my experience most teachers can't get through a simple presentation using a laptop. More teaching, less tech.

I don't normally allow them in my classroom but they can be useful.

Kids' mobiles can be great for #BYOD (bring your own device) testing of apps and also for getting around restrictive school web filters.

What a waste. I use my translator on my phone all the time. Use the resources we have.

Tories say students must "learn to use technology responsibly" and this is achieved by banning mobiles!?

We shouldn't fear new technology and its effect on children. We should embrace it, promoting positive use.
