Sixth form colleges' employers' forum;FE Focus;Post-16

THE post-16 review should be used as an opportunity to replace small school sixth forms with provision in colleges, said the Sixth Form Colleges' Employers' Forum.

It said the 120 colleges had proved extremely popular with parents and students and could offer an all-round quality education for the six to 18 age group.

The new approach should establish equity and parity in the funding of post-16 education and training and the use of the same funding methodology across all providers. The establishment of lifelong-learning partnerships was welcomed.
