Skill Bill

16th November 2007 at 00:00

I have no idea how handy Mrs Rammell, wife of the further and higher education secretary, is with a screwdriver. But one thing seems certain - she doesn't leave it to her husband to put up the shelves.

Bill Rammell was invited to Cornwall College to celebrate the opening of its new Skills Centre and was called upon to screw in the shiny new plaque for the benefit of college luminaries.

Much hilarity was enjoyed by all as the screw found itself detached from the wall, Mr Rammell having turned it in the wrong direction.

It just goes to show you're never too old to learn new skills.
