From small beginnings

This year's Interskola conference was the 37th such annual event. It has been held continuously since its small beginnings in 1967 when the first conference took place at the then Aberdeen College of Education following a meeting the previous year between teachers from Scotland and Norway.

"Most people leave the conferences with confidence that they are not small and insignificant, but that they are a significant part of their country's educational structure, with a unique contribution to make to their national educational system," Donald MacDonald, this year's chairman, said.
