* Snow and storms caused havoc in London and eastern England last week. Forty pupils on a double-decker bus escaped injury after the front of the vehicle ended up in a ditch near Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire.

And teenagers from Haverhill, Suffolk, spent the night on the M11 after their coach was stranded while returning from a London day trip.
