Class wits will have a chance to test just how funny they are next month when the Glasgow International Comedy Festival holds stand-up classes for children.

The Comedy Academy 4 Kids, aimed at pupils aged seven to 13, will be run by children's stand-up comedian James Campbell on March 12-13. It takes place at The Stand comedy club on Woodlands Road from 4-6.30pm and costs pound;20 per child.

Would-be comedians can also see the professionals in action at special comedy shows for children aged six and over. The Comedy Club 4 Kids is also for adults who prefer their comedy clean.

It has previously seen acts such as Reginald D Hunter and Brendon Burns departing from close-to-the-bone material in order to suit the different audience.

The comedy club also takes place at The Stand from 5pm on March 14-16.
