Soundbite;Parting Shots

My job involves working with children with specific learning difficulties.

On one occasion I was working with a seven-year-old who had word finding difficulties. We were looking at consonant blends and came across a picture of twins.

He knew this word and was able to tell me that it meant two children who were born at the same time. As triplets had joined our school that week I asked him what the word was for three children who were born at the same time. He thought hard for a few moments: "I know's..." and then announced triumphantly: "TWIGLETS!" Janice Rolnick.
