SPAIN Only one third of Spaniards say they respect their secondary teachers, according to a survey of 12 countries. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development asked "How much do you respect secondary teachers as professionals?" The Spanish score of 32 per cent was well below the average of 57.6 per cent. Austrian teachers are the most highly esteemed, scoring 74 per cent.
