Sporting chances: John Beattie, chair of the physical activity task force, and Stewart Harris, acting chief executive of Sportscotland, help Clackmannanshire pupils launch the council's recruitment of 14 physical education teachers for primary PE and sport. Peter Peacock, the Education Minister, has pledged to recruit 400 more PE teachers over the next few years. Intakes to PE teacher training increased this session by 300 per cent to meet the target.
