Sportsmark successes

ALMOST 400 secondary schools across England were recognised as centres of sporting excellence this week, gaining a Sportsmark award. All offer at least 100 minutes of physical education within the curriculum each week, and extra-curricular activities. In total 325 schools gained the Sportsmark, and 46 more achieved the Sportsark Gold level.

TB outbreak biggest ever SEVENTY-FOUR cases of tuberculosis have now been diagnosed following the outbreak of the disease at Crown Woods community college in Leicester. Twelve of the cases were confirmed this week. The outbreak is now the biggest ever recorded at a school in Britain or America.
