Staggering statistics

Staggering school opening times could prevent 300 road casualties a year, according to calculations by the car insurance firm More Than. The company also found that a 10 per cent reduction in school runs would prevent a further 190 deaths and injuries a year. The Government plans to introduce legislation later this year which will allow selected authorities to experiment with staggered school opening times.
