Stars fight selection;In brief

A nationwide petition calling for the end of selection, supported by show-biz stars, politicians and academics such as Ben Elton and Helena Kennedy QC, has been launched by the Campaign for State Education.

Margaret Tulloch, executive secretary of CASE, wants to present the Government with evidence of widespread support for comprehensive education.
