Pat Dowsing's tips on how to go for an Artsmark

* Brainstorm everything you do, right from the start. Work in a team - you cannot possibly do this on your own.

* Keep registers of clubs and make a note of dates, guests, visits and everything that counts towards the award.

* Start thinking about the award in July and August

* For more information about applying for an Artsmark award, visit the Arts Council England website at www.artscouncil.org.uk

From August 30, applicants for the next round of awards may call the Artsmark helpline, Tel: 0800 0560 196. In the meantime, they may use the line to leave contact details and to order a copy of the new application pack, available from mid-July. Alternatively, Email: artsmark@artscouncil.org.uk to order a pack, or download from the website..
