Step in the dark

Portobello High in Edinburgh is taking the eco-road. But it's not been all plain sailing - if a nautical metaphor can be put on the road.

Energy-saving moves such as switching off all the lights at the end of the day are firmly on the scool's agenda.

Alas after one recent eco-meeting, a lady from the local council was picking her way through the green gloom when she missed her footing and fell down the stairs. Her current views of eco principles are unknown.
