Straw steps down

Jack Straw, the Home Secretary, is to resign as chair of the governors at Pimlico School in Westminster, London.

In July both parents and teachers passed a vote of no confidence in Mr Straw and two other governors, after they backed plans to rebuild the school using private finance.
