Strike postponed

Two days of strikes planned by the NUT at Haggerston School did not go ahead this week after the union agreed a last-minute suspension. Hackney Learning Trust wanted to make six teachers redundant at the east London girls' school. Instead it agreed to offer voluntary redundancies. The trust has reserved its right to turn teachers down, and the union its right to strike if compulsory job losses are still proposed.
