Student numbers stable;In brief

THE latest official figures on students accepted for a higher education place is down very slightly, by 2.2 per cent, on last session. The number accepted by Scottish institutions from Scotland is almost exactly the same at 21.015 against the previous 21,009, according to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. The overall UK figure shows a slight increase in acceptances of 0.4 per cent.
