- East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking nominations for the Peter Buchanan Award for Personal Endeavour, a new award which honours a project officer with the Positive Alternatives project who died last year. Nominations deadline is 25 May. For details see: www.surveymonkey.comsPBAward2012

- Pupils from Dollar Academy have been given a glimpse into the world of cabling and electrical engineering by Arthur McKay, a firm installing new cabling at the school; 21 pupils studying physics, technological studies and economics spent a day at Brand-Rex's Scottish HQ in Glenrothes to experience the industry at first hand.
