P7 pupils at George Watson's College, Edinburgh, have released a single in aid of Erskine, a charity that cares for former members of the armed forces. Linked with their Second World War topic, The Hopes Placed in our Hands has lyrics written by eight pupils, put to music by assistant director of music Steven Griffin. For CDs and details, email

Goal achieved


Larbert High has won the School Sport Award at this year's Scottish Sports Awards. It is the only school in Scotland with a community sport hub, school of football and school of rugby. The prize was presented by Everton FC manager David Moyes. Head-teacher Jon Reid said: "It's been an incredible journey over the past few years in the build-up to this award."
