Crane class

HERITAGE

An education and visitor centre opened this week at the base of the Titan Crane in Clydebank. The "classroom under the Titan" will allow classes to learn about Clydebank's shipbuilding heritage and the town's regeneration. Pupils from local primaries St Eunans and Whitecrook were the first to use the new classroom.

Real revamp

HISTORY

The palace of Stirling Castle has reopened after a pound;12m revamp to present the royal lodgings as they might have been in the mid-16th century. Years of research were carried out to ensure every detail was as authentic as possible. The castle includes James IV's Great Hall, the largest medieval banqueting hall ever built in Scotland.
