Spray of hope

Senior pupils from 31 secondary schools take part in a Scottish Parliament project today. "Political Voices" will allow pupils to illustrate their political hopes through spray-painting an 8ft-high wall in the parliament garden with "street art" to designing a cartoon with the animators behind the Dennis the Menace TV series.

In the race

Craigroyston Community High in Edinburgh has dominated the Scottish heat of the F1 in Schools competition. An S3 team, C-Force, won the sections for best-engineered car and fastest car, and now has a place in the world championships in Malaysia. The competition challenges teams to design gas- powered balsa wood F1 cars.
