Note worthy

The Scottish Book Trust has published teachers' notes, with CfE links, for books featured in last year's Scottish Children's Book Awards. What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson is suitable for early years and Level 1, and Far Flung Adventures: Fergus Crane by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell is ideal for Level 2.

Make a splash

Seafood Scotland has teamed up with the 6th World Fisheries Congress to launch an art competition for primary and secondary pupils. Children taking part in Seafood Scotland's "Seafood in Schools" pilot project are being asked to design a T-shirt for delegates at the congress, which will be held in May.
