Glowing author


- The Scottish Book Trust is celebrating World Book Day on 1 March with Horrid Henry series author Francesca Simon taking part in its latest Authors Live event. Schools unable to take part in the live BBC Scotland broadcast can view the event on or via the trust's page on Glow.

Kitchen action


- Lorne Primary pupils in Edinburgh were joined by top chef and ex-pupil Tony Singh this month when he unveiled their new learning kitchen, donated by John Lewis as part of an initiative to encourage pupils to eat healthily. A group of P3 and P4 pupils tested it out by creating a spiced pumpkin soup with cheddar cookies under Mr Singh's tutelage.
