What do you do?

Broxburn Academy headteacher.

How long have you subscribed?

20-plus years.

What do you read first?

I go cover to cover. I like to keep up with contributions from former colleagues Larry Flanagan and Ken Cunningham.

What should there be more of in TESS?

I really like the features on good practice. My maths staff visited Prestwick Academy after I read a TESS feature, and we have implemented ideas we gleaned.

Who would you like to see writing in TESS?

Brian Boyd is still an inspiration. Or Bruce Perry on brain development - his work inspired our school to introduce three nurture bases.

What would you be excited to see on the front page?

That all qualified teachers had found employment, class sizes been further reduced, and composite classes were no longer necessary.
