Summerhill sparks grand prize entry

SHEFFIELD science adviser Anne Turner is the winner of the pound;1,000 quiz that appeared in the Millennium Edition of The TES on December 31. Mrs Turner's attention was caught by a question about Summerhill headteacher A Neill, who wrote to The TES in 1947 asking for help with a maths problem. "The reference to Summerhill took me back to my teacher-training days, but I thought the whole edition was fascinating," she said.
