The enthusiasm of French parents for education appears to know no bounds. A revision guide aimed at adults who want to help their children catch up with English and Maths during the holidays has reached the top of the non-fiction bestseller chart. Known as Le Cahier de Vacances pour Adultes, the book contains questions about geometry, prime numbers, world history and the English and French languages. There is a long tradition of beach revision in France, where about 3.5 million revision guides are sold every year.
