Swimming Ben Higson (Berwickshire High) set a new championship record at the Royal Bank Scottish Schools' Championships at Edinburgh's Commonwealth Pool last month. Higson won the 13-14 years' 200m individual medley in 2 mins 23.21 secs, more than eight seconds ahead of his nearest rival, Martyn Taylor (Harlaw Academy).

There were records for Julie Wiliams (Kilmalcolm Primary) for U-12 50m breaststroke (37.06) and Tom Lindsay (Ashley Rd PS) in U-12 50m butterfly (32.20).

Cults Primary set a championship best for Under-12 4 X 50m freestyle relay with 2 mins 09.97. The Scottish schools' team for the international versus England, Wales and Ireland in Ipswich on March 25 will be named soon.
