Take a tour of India

4th November 2005 at 00:00
The pucker people at Patak's have launched a site for teaching humanities at key stage 2, with three "zones" for children, teachers and home. In the Kids' Zone, pupils can learn about India by "travelling" through the different regions and learning about the people who live there. In the Spices and Cooking section there is information about why spices are used in Indian cooking, where they come from and how they are used. In the last section, pupils can learn about the spice trade, which includes information about the explorers who mapped our world. In each section children can test their knowledge by playing quizzes. The Teachers' Zone features a poster with activity ideas and website notes, and the Home Zone has recipes for everyday and special occasions.
