Take assertive approach

15th June 2001 at 01:00
I am a happy teacher. I work a 40-hour week. I work from 8.30 to 3.30. I add one hour each day for preparation and marking. I have declined duties during the lunch break, paid or unpaid. I attend one meeting per week as instructed by my union.

In amicable discussion with my head, I have ageed to explain my position to the governing body if ever he feels that is necessary. My students get my energy, enthusiasm and attention, and so does my family. I recommend my stance to the entire profession.
