Congratulations to Scotland on winning this year's School Students Debating World Championships and to England for reaching the semi-finals (40 countries competed and South Korea was host).

The Association of Speakers Clubs (the largest organisation of its kind in the UK) fervently encourages public speaking and debating in schools, frequently supplying judges and often delivering seminars. Many teachers being devoted oral communicators are members.

Schools may find details of their nearest club on www.the-asc.org.uk
