Talking turkey

12th November 2004 at 00:00
In these days when school leadership is king, we should be warned. A turkey was chatting to a bull. "I would love to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I have not got the energy."

"Why don't you nibble on my droppings?" replied the bull. "They are all packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the bottom branch. More dung later, and he was proudly perched at the top.

Soon he was spotted by the farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.
