SUPERMARKET shoppers will soon be able to pick up some IT training with their groceries. Sainsbury's and the Learning and Skills Council are to provide an estimated 15,000 hours of training a week to help tackle England's IT skills shortage. More than 200 courses will be available during opening hours, ranging from basic word-processing to advanced web design. The pound;15 million venture was tested in a Sainsbury's store in Reading where 3,000 people used the facility in 22 months. Three new centres will open by March 2003, two in London and one in the West Midlands.
