Teacher training recruitment on the increase

10th August 2001 at 01:00
TEACHER training recruitment figures are up again on the same time last year - 17.5 per cent for secondary postgraduate courses, and 18.9 per cent for primary in England and Wales. The Graduate Teacher Training Registry has so far received 38,000 applications, compared to 32,300 by August 2000. Most secondary maths courses and many modern languages, technology and science courses are still unfilled.
