Teachers need support not the sack
Everyone in the teaching profession is aware of this status quo. It is hardly news, even dressed up with newly published facts and figures from the Sutton Trust and quotes from other sources. The underperforming teachers story is trotted out several times a year in all forms of the media. The topic is a hugely important one, but you are writing to a readership which is already aware.
