TEC activities

I refer to your story "TECs fume at student buy-up" (TES, August 4).

This is just to make it absolutely clear, as I did to your reporter, that in responding to questions on this subject, I was speaking as a spokesperson for the Training and Enterprise Councils National Council (in the absence of Chris Humphries) and not about my local area in Manchester.

There is no activity of the kind described in the article going on via colleges in the Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Tameside area.
