The inventiveness of some schools is wondrous indeed. A Glasgow secondary, in preparation for an inspection, decided to rename detention as "reflection". Unfortunately, this rather took away the kudos for pupils: not too many playground boasts were heard, as in "guess what I've just been given - a period of reflection". Perhaps that was the intention.
