Three appeals too many

29th November 2002 at 00:00
I FULLY recognise Cherie Booth's right to defend an excluded teenager, but I find it unbelievable that an excluded pupil has the right to appeal four times (TES, November 15).

One appeal should be allowed, otherwise the head's decision should be final. I have taught for 31 years in five different countries. The liberal attitude to classroom disruption in Britain never ceases to amaze me!
