The Scottish Qualifications Authority is mounting an art exhibition at the IT Gallery in the National Gallery of Scotland later this month as a showcase of the best work submitted by pupils for their exams this year.
Running from October 24 to January 4, the exhibition will feature more than 100 exhibits created for Standard grade, Intermediate and Higher exam entries. It will include paintings, sculpture, design, ceramics, fashion and jewellery all of which gained top marks.
A spokesman for the SQA said: "This is a great opportunity for teachers and students of art in schools and colleges to see and discuss exemplar works from each level."
A fully illustrated catalogue will be available free to students.
Teachers interested in taking a class to the exhibition should book at least a month in advance T 0131-624-6410, E email@example.com.
The SQA is also hosting a number of events to introduce teaching staff to the revised courses and units in Advanced Higher art and design. A PowerPoint presentation by the principal assessor for Advanced Higher will be followed by an opportunity to view a sample of the best folios submitted for this year's exam diet.
The events are scheduled to take place in November in Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
