The merits of Concept Cartoons are being extolled by teachers, school inspectors and science advisers.

"They're wonderful," says Glasgow City adviser David Lawson.

"The latest version, which we're going to put into all our schools, is in colour on a CD, so you can show the cartoons on an interactive whiteboard."

Children identify with the cartoon characters and this leads to an investigative approach to explore misconceptions and find the right answers.
