Tories' 'elite' plans

A Conservative government would pump more cash into elite teacher training, the shadow schools secretary, Michael Gove, has said.

The Tories want to expand Teach First, Teaching Leaders and Future Leaders to English primary schools and fund an "incubator" to let graduates form academy management teams to to take over failing schools and work with parents' groups to start new schools. The NASUWT accused Mr Gove of "hijacking" the existing schemes.
