Total schooling;Letter

FOR Chris Woodhead to consider that it is a waste of time trying to educate 50 per cent of our school population is quite incredible, but for the leading educational newspaper to then say "there was nothing exceptional about Chris Woodhead's seemingly commonsensical comment" is beyond my comprehension (TES, October 8).

I teach pupils with severe learning difficulties and every single one of them is worth educating. It is this principle which presumably underpins the Government's desire to spread the concept of lifelong learning.
