In touch with the future

(Photograph) - In touch with the future: when Jim Hough lost most of his sight three years ago, he decided not to 'vegetate on benefits', but enrolled at City College, Manchester. Encouraged by his Braille and basic computing successes, he has since completed City and Guilds teacher education, a second computer course and level one British Sign Language. He now plans to teach at the college. Photograph by Chris Thomond
