A new qualification for special needs teachers has been developed by a university and a teacher supply agency. Teachers taking the course can build up modules to gain a post-graduate diploma and then a master's degree from the University of the West of England in Bristol.

The course is available at other regional centres, and has been designed to meet the Teacher Training Agency's criteria on national standards for special needs teachers.
