Trainers behind gold medallist

28th November 2003 at 00:00
Whilst I applaud your brief article "Gold skills winners celebrate" (FE Focus, November 7) outlining the successes of young men and women in the recent Skills Olympics, I was disappointed that no mention was made of the colleges or training centres that had been key to imparting these skills.

Warwickshire College is extremely proud that the gold medal winner Leanne Knighton was one of our beauty therapy students. We are also proud that her success has already inspired many others to follow her chosen career path.

I suspect that the organisations attended by other achievers of distinction, such as Lee Fawcett, experienced a similar disappointment when reading your article.
