Training centres miss millions

28th February 2003 at 00:00
TEACHER-training centres have missed out on millions of pounds of funding for buildings and equipment. The sector is to get an extra pound;6 million in capital funding this year to compensate for a two-year famine between 2001-03. But providers have been losing out since 1994, when the Teacher Training Agency took over the sector from the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Capital funding was not included in the TTA's budget.
