Tree week

11th November 2005 at 00:00
Pupils from Broadclyst Primary School, Devon, identify a tree at Killerton House during one of many activities organised in the UK during October and November on the subject of trees. In Leeds, 27 schools are involved in gathering acorns, conkers and other tree seeds and are taught about planting and growing them by countryside rangers. Seeds are taken back to school to plant in pots and perhaps eventually in school grounds. National Tree Week is November 23-December 4.
