Truancy training video

8th September 2000 at 01:00
Truancy wears many faces and several of them are sympathetically sketched in Out of Site Out of Mind, a half-hour training video from Essex Education. We follow the stories of three absent Year 9 pupils: a girl who bunks off when her parents are away; a boy escaping from his contemporaries' sneering at his option choices; and a irl who is both a bully and a victim of her violent mother. In the accompanying booklet there are many helpful ideas for exploring anxieties raised with both adults and pupils.
