The truth about job choices

1st November 1996 at 00:00
How do young people really choose their careers? Are they influenced by television? On Tuesday November 5 Ruth Hawthorn, the first TES Fellow at Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge, will report on the fruits of a year's research at the college on the subject.

The Fellowship, funded for three years at the women's college by News International, is for research into educational policy. Roger Dawe of the Department for Education and Employment, and Jane Reed from NI will respond to the lecture, which will take place before an invited audience at the RSA in John Adam Street, London WC2. Some seats have been reserved for readers of The TES. If you would like to attend the lecture and reception please telephone Amy Dick, promotions department, The TES, 0171 782 3000, extension 3236.
